Privacy
Exactly what goes online.
Your trips, earnings, expenses and receipts are stored on your phone. There’s no account, no analytics and no DayHatch server. The app goes online only for these:
- 01
Your Pro status
When the app opens, it checks whether you have Pro with RevenueCat, using an anonymous ID. Buying and renewing go through Google Play.
- 02
Backup, if you turn it on
To your own Google Drive, only if you sign in. Once it’s on, it backs up once a day, and you can switch that off. The file goes straight from your phone to your account. If a phone’s own Google sign-in isn’t available, Drive sign-in finishes on a page on mytriptally.com that only hands it back to the app.
- 03
Real maps, if you turn them on
Routes are drawn on your phone, offline. If you turn on detailed maps, map tiles load from OpenStreetMap, which then sees the rough area of the trip.
- 04
Feedback, through your email
Feedback goes from your own email app, and only if you press Send. You see the whole message first.
That’s the list.
Receipt scanning reads the receipt on your phone and sends nothing. Odometer photos stay on your phone too. Links you tap, like the app stores or the IRS sources, open in your browser.
Where your records live
- In the app’s own storage on your phone.
- Delete the app without a backup and your records go with it.
- A backup is your own file, in your Drive or wherever you save it. We never see it.
Deleting your data
- On your phone: delete any trip, earning, expense or receipt inside the app. To delete everything, uninstall DayHatch or, on Android, open Settings → Apps → DayHatch → Storage → Clear storage.
- Google Drive backup: it is kept in DayHatch’s hidden app data in your Drive. On a computer, open drive.google.com → Settings → Manage apps → DayHatch → Options → Delete hidden app data.
- Backup files you saved (to Files, iCloud Drive, Downloads or email): delete them wherever you saved them. Uninstalling the app doesn’t remove them.
- Subscription record (RevenueCat): it holds an anonymous ID and, if you bought Pro, the Google Play purchase history; never your trips or money. To ask for it to be deleted, email [email protected] with your Google Play order number (it starts with GPA.). Cancel any active subscription in Google Play first.
